JOHANNA LINDSEY

Johanna Lindsey was born in Frankfurt, Germany on March 10, 1952. Her father, Edwin Dennis, was in the US Army, so she moved from place to place. The highest level of education that she received was high school, which she attended in Kailua, Hawaii, where she and her family moved after her father's death. In 1970 she married Ralph Lindsey, an estimator (now deceased), and she has lived in Kaneohe, Hawaii, ever since. She is the author of almost 40 works of historical and romantic fiction.

Lindsey has been writing since 1975. She has won several awards, including numerous Reviewer's Choice Awards and Waldenbooks Best Historical, among many others. Her first book, Captive Bride, was published in 1977, and she now has more than 54 million copies of her books in print, translated into 12 different languages.
