I found that the book is a good read. This is not your normal fairly tale. If you like bondage and discipline, you will like this book, and the other two in the set.

I was appalled at the beginning and its just drawn me in to read more. It's like a guilty pleasure to read.

I think that this book would have settled better in my mind if it was not written in fairytale form. I love children and keep my adult life and fairytale life separate. This book seriously blurred the line between a childrens fairytale and adult hardcore... too much for my psyche... I like to keep that part of my mind pure, not filled with pure garbage... had it been written in a completely adult fanatasy format, it would have most likely been readable.

I have read erotica on the internet far better than this. I have always had an interest in BDSM, but this book went far beyond my tastes... I usually like Anne Rice's books, but this one is horrid. Sorry, just my personal opinion. You might like it, it wasn't for me.

Anne Rice is an articulate writer and an amazing story teller. The reader must rise above the erotica and thrill and appreciate the internal journey the characters go through to reach self actualization. I thought the story was well researched and well thought out. An emotional journey depicting the individual acceptance of the many variations in BDSM. I appreciate her exploration of varying degrees of the lifestyle. Fabulous read unlike any other I have found in this topic line. I highly recommend.
