Prim librarian Maureen Davenport is thrilled to be directing Avalon’s annual holiday pageant. Unfortunately, her enthusiasm is met with disdain by her codirector, heartthrob and former child star Eddie Haven, who admittedly finds Christmas distasteful, and is participating only because he’s been court-ordered to do so. That they argue over everything—from Eddie’s choice of less traditional music to Maureen’s storybook notion of the holiday is no surprise. What does come as a shock is that amid the non-stop sparring, they’re falling in love.… Susan Wiggs’ Lakeshore Christmas is a heartwarming treat to be savored before a crackling fire as the story of Willow Lake’s most unlikely couple deliciously unfolds.

As usual the author does a fantastic job of developing her characters and tying them in with the ones we have already come to love in her previous novels. I found this one to be both sweet and uplifting as the story developed. I also like the way she makes her characters real, with real, everyday problems.

I love a good romance as much as anyone, but I found this one more suited for teenaged readers. I like a more complex storyline.

I am about 3/4ths thru the book and I have always loved Susan Wiggs stories, but this one is a bit disappointing. I think it's somewhat "draggie". It certainly isn't one that "I can't put down". Sorry bjg

This is a story about two very different people, Librarian Maureen Davenport (Mo) loves Christmas and everything about it, and Eddie Haven who hates it, they cross paths one more time to direct a Christmas pageant.
Eddie and Mo battle over the pageant, but they work together and fall in love. However, both fear commitment. Maureen has a past that haunts her and hides behind the library and boring clothes to keep from ever getting hurt again. While Eddie uses the pageant as an excuse to stay clear of his parents during the holidays.
A kind but strange individual Jabaz helps to make the celebration a evening to remember.
The latest Lakeshore Chronicles is a sweet holiday romance that fans of the series will enjoy spending the holiday season with.
