Nicholas Sparks’ most poignant novel to date centers on Veronica “Ronnie” Miller, whose life was turned upside-down when her parents divorced and her father moved from New York City to Wilmington, North Carolina. Three years later, the seventeen-year-old remains alienated from her parents, especially her father…until her mother decides it would be in everyone’s best interest if she and her little brother spent the summer in Wilmington with him. Ronnie’s father, Steve, is living a quiet life in the beach town, immersed in creating a work of art that will become the centerpiece of a local church. A former concert pianist, it breaks his heart that Ronnie, who shares his gift for music, refuses to play. But when Ronnie gets involved with the wrong crowd and winds up in trouble with the law, Steve’s belief in her innocence begins to melt the ice between them. At the same time, Will Blakelee, a boy whose family apppears to be everything Ronnie’s is not, opens her eyes to things she never wanted to see…or feel. In The Last Song, Nicholas Sparks examines the love between parents and children, and first love, too, as Ronnie learns the many ways a heart can be broken, and heal.

This book, The Last Song, is like all of Nicholas Sparks books and I've read them all except for A Walk To Remember. Saw the movie several times though. The Last Song was fantastic!! I could not hardly put it down. Nicholas Sparks books just simply captivate me. I will continue to buy every book he writes just as I have purchased most of a few other authors books. But he is the Very Best!!!!

I really enjoyed this book. Not his best but not bad. More about the father/daughter than the love story. Great summer love story!

I love all of Nicholas Sparks books and this was no exception. He has such a wonderful way of putting these characters in your heart. This story will stay with me for a very long time. I liked this one as much or more than my favorite story by him, The Notebook. As usual, be prepared for needing a box of tissues. Would highly recommend this book to anyone who likes a great read.
