The great many fans of #1 New York Times bestselling author Johanna Lindsey will be thrilled to know that in That Perfect Someone, they’ll be returning to the “wickedly witty, lusciously sensual” (Booklist) world of her beloved Malory family.
Finally, heiress Julia Miller’s solicitors have freed her from a longstanding, and decidedly distasteful, marital obligation to the Earl of Manford’s wastrel son. Now, at her dear friend Georgina Malory’s opulent ball, Julia hopes to meet someone special, someone she can truly love, which is why a blistering kiss from a masked Frenchman does more than pique her interest…much more. Who is this alluring mystery man?
To carry out a task of great urgency, treasure-hunting pirate Richard Allen has slipped back into England after a nine-year absence, adopting the persona of a carefree, seductive Frenchman with no interest in marital matters. In great danger, he didn’t bargain on a woman getting in his way, and certainly not a woman as enticing as the charming Miss Miller! But as he and Julia enter an intimate charade, the outcome of which is unclear, the growing intensity of their passion is something neither can deny….

I always enjoy reading Johanna Lindsey's books. Just the right mixture of drama and humor. I find I want to move the Carribean and hunt for treasure and hunky pirates! I would love to see the Mallory series made into movies. Hope there's more on the horizon.

If you like Ms. Lindsay's novels, especially her Mallory novels, then this book will not disappoint you! It was easy to figure out early on that the masked frenchman was Julia's missing fiance - but it was still fun to see them as they sparred back and forth - only to realize how wrong they were about each other...and how right they were for each other. It is always nice to visit old friends, and to see how things are progressing in their lives. Thanks for another enjoyable book Ms Lindsay...you have done it again!

This book isn't up to her usual standard. The plot is weak and the characters poorly drawn. The Mallory's are, by now, so familiar that they are becoming stereotypes. James Mallory is a caricature of the character created in previous books. Not really worth reading.
