From thrill rides, compliments of his superstar detective Alex Cross, to emotional heartbreakers à la Suzanne's Diary for Nicholas, to high-flying adventures via teenager Maximum Ride, it’s clear James Patterson is, indeed, “the man who can’t miss” (TIME). With The Dangerous Days of Daniel X, though, get ready to be swept into a fantastic realm, where enemies abound…and nothing is at it seems.
The greatest superpower of all isn’t to be part spider, part man, or to cast awe-inspiring magic spells; the greatest power is the power to create. Daniel has that power.
Daniel's secret abilities—like being able to manipulate objects and animals with his mind or to recreate himself in any shape of his choosing—have helped him survive against unknown enemies. But as a protector of the earth, an Alien Hunter, he has a mission beyond what anyone could imagine.
From the day that his parents were brutally murdered, Daniel has used his unique gifts to hunt down their assassin. Finally, with the help of The List bequeathed to him with his parents’ dying breath, he has located the despised killer.
Now, on his own, he vows to take on his father’s important mission and to have vengeance in the process.

This was more of a book for younger readers. I just couldn't get into it.

Finding books for young male readers is not always an easy task. Even reluctant readers will enjoy this series. And, take the word of a 30-year+ Reading Specialist for adolescents, series books are the way to hook young readers. This is an xcellent series: start with book one and keep them coming. Also highly enjoyable: the Pendragon Series by MacHale.

I was reading another book when brother told me the story line of Daniel X. The same day I finished my other novel I quickily picked up Daniel X. I finished it in two days, and quickily wanted my mother to get the second book, WATCH THE SKIES. I give James Patterson two thumbs up for the excellent book for kids my age. Thank you James Patterson!

Thought the book was all right, expecting something a bit more. At times it really was getting better, but seemed to be more for the younger readers. Then it dawned on me it was. Would recomend for the younger crowd.

If the so called Patterson fans would have taken the time to read the cover they would have realized that this was a book intended for the younger readers, who seem to really enjoy Daniel and the Max books. My grandson had to have the book taken away from him because he was supposed to be enjoying the ocean instead of reading -- so he read it on the way back home when the hurricane was coming into the coast.
