Packed with pulse-pounding suspense, heart-warming romance and hot-blooded passion, New York Times bestselling author Kat Martin’s The Raines of Wind Canyon series has struck a chord in readers that will not stop reverberating. And though each novel can be read as a standalone, they work beautifully together to create a world that you’ll want to visit again and again.
In Against the Night, we get the story of ex-Army Ranger Johnnie Riggs. Six feet of solid muscle, with dark hair and a five o’clock shadow that’s there by ten in the morning, Johnnie now works as a P.I. who specializes in digging up information—the kind people want to keep hidden. All-too-familiar with the dark side of L.A., he’s as tough as it gets…and he’s just met the one person who can bring him to his knees!
Petite, blonde and a kindergarten teacher to boot, Amy Brewer is everything Johnnie is not. So why is she working as a stripper in one of the Sunset Strip’s seamiest clubs? To find her sister, who disappeared without a trace. And when she meets Johnnie—and realizes that he’s the one man who can help her—she vows to do whatever it takes to enlist his aid…even if it means giving in to his determined seduction.

I loved this book. Most of us have a fantasy that we have the body to dance on a pole. Well, Amy gets her chance and her man. Throw in a little danger, and bam, I am all in. Riggs was my kind of man. He knew what he wanted, had somes doubts, but kept the woman. Good read. Now I have to get the other before this one.
